Say, "So?". Emotional and real intelligence aren't really the same thing. Tell her you've never heard such a thing, unless you're a counselor or something who cares?!

Forgive me for saying this but isn't his statement a bit of an oxymoron? To say a high level of emotional intelligence is like saying my right brain emotional, imaginative, daring side is highly evolved when that for the most part cant be the case.

The left hemisphere of the brain however is the Logic side, higher intelligence, reasoning centre and life's decision making based on fact and performance and our overall safety net to use of common sense.

But to say what this dude said seems to be a wee bit like floating his own boat. He feels he needs to boast to show is prowess to win friends and influence others... He has a rude awakening. Funny how his higher emotional intelligence didn't tell him that. LOL

There are various tests of E.I.Q. available with a simple Yahoo! search. Check them out. Otherwise, just see how sarcastic he or she is when someone does something stupid or aggravating (even if it's something everyone in the office can agree was a blunder, the way people voice that agreement is a good indicator of E.I.Q.)

That means that person shows (empathy ) but not sympathy.
Example: A parent using, TOUGH LOVE
That means that parent loves that child, but is giving that child a punishment that was warranted.
