I have an opportunity to join a new company at a new position within that company (i.e. job description and salary have not been defined). I am led to believe that salary is potentially several times higher than what I make now (same job, different company)... someone else who turned down the job was told to "name his price". How do I approach this without lowballing and shooting myself in the foot?

Do a little research on line about the type of position you would be in and what kind of salary goes along with it. You could call a temp agency as well and ask.

Good luck with the new job!!
