I need job opportunities (teaching?) or Accounting, good school for my 8-year old daughter, and reasonable living costs. I would like a neighborhood with sidewalks, not just interstate. Help. Thanks.

Oak Ridge (about 15 miles from Knoxville) is a great location. The job market is booming, and we have some of the best schools in the country. The living costs are pretty good, although I think property taxes are a little higher than some of the smaller areas. It's a very family friendly city, and there are lots of things to do here. We have great, great history (built the atomic bomb in WWII), great museums, great outdoor recreation, and are close to all the major tourist attractions in East Tennessee.

Check out the tourism webpage at www.oakridgevisitor.com. Hope this helps!

I live in Scotts Hill Tn.It is quite here. Not much crime at all and I have never known of any violent crimes at all.Just someone stealing a cow or something. It is cheap to live here and it's spread out.Lots of country.I like it here.Look it up on the internet and see what you come up with.By the way, we just got a new sheriff and he is really going after the dopeheads and meth labs around here, very hard! But it's nice here.

Try somewhere around Nashville. It is beautiful there. You could even live outside the city. There are all kinds of towns outside the city. Not so sure on the schools, but I bet they are great.

move to knoxville,tn there is university of tennesee, i think in teaching there are lots of opportunities in utk, not too much intersttae, more green more fresh air, if you compare to capital nashville nashville is to much interstate and less green, but more upscale, and memphis is not bad, but it is more developed too, i think best place could be knoxville, you can easily find a job there, i hope it can help you.
