My doc says it's okay after the first trimester with good ventiliation, but does anyone have conflicting info about whether painting with low voc paint during pregnancy is safe? I understand it's up for debate and just wondered what others have been told by their doctors.

I painted the nursery all by myself just a couple weeks ago. As long as the fumes don't make you uncomfortable or dizzy, it's probably ok.

Also, be careful if you have to get up on ladders and such to paint near the ceiling. I'd be much more worried about a fall than the paint fumes.

I painted my baby's room, and a few other walls in the house when i was in my second and third trimester.

He's a very healthy and advanced little guy.

Theres no sound evidence to prove is harms or doesnt harm the baby.

As long as it is not oil based you should be fine. I was in a freshly painted room (that morning) when I was only a few weeks pregnant.
