My friends and I use to take turns asking the questions to each other and answering them, usually we would associate something else with the answer, to make it easier to remember. If you haven't any one to study with then writing it on paper helps you to remember, I use to write it five or six times until it was in my head.

You feel hopeless because the entire thing seems too large. Instead break it up into realistic goals...and then reward yourself each time you complete one....with something you really like....taking a break....buying yourself a treat....etc....divide up what it will take to get it all done....then do it in increments...it will not seem so difficult.

Also remind yourself of how great it will be when it is completed. How will you reward yourself then?

Also get someone to help you "pre-test" you on the subject before the examination time so you can work on your weakest areas.

You can try to study the subjects that are harder for you in school so your teachers and classmates will be there if ever you have any questions. Don't feel hopeless, just think positive.

As the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect."
Practice practice practice is the key to confidence when it comes to working problems.
*Review notes daily.
*Do your homework.
*Ask questions in class, via email, or to your classmates.
*Don't get yourself down thinking you're the only one having problems. There's at least one other student who's having a hard time too I assure you!
*Get a study group together.
*Make review sheets/notes
*Re-work problems you already did and see if you can get the right answer again.
*Get a good night's sleep the night before the exam.
*Eat a good breakfast the morning of the exam.
*Don't cram as much as you can. Start studying in increments. Little by little.
*Make notecards/flashcards to help you review.

Hope those help! Good luck!

Keep telling your self you are enjoying your studies. Think of the people who would be happy if you perform well. So for their sake, carry on working and you'll find it wasn't so tough after all.
