There are two types of Satanism. One is where you actually do believe in the devil. If you become that it is usually because you believe you can somehow attain great power from worshipping the devil. The other type of Satanists don't actually believe in the devil at all! These Satanists come from the story that Lucifer was once an angel that didn't agree that God's way was the only way. He rebelled and was cast down from heaven. These Satanists choose not to conform to societies norm. The believe the rules were made to be changed. They become satanists to assert their individuality and to show that the "normal" way isn't always the right way.

Because, someone, sometime, in some place comes near you, and he tells you that he can teach you how to do amazing things! You know, make whatever you dream reality. So, you fell for it, and you say that you would be interested in such a program. So you meet this guy for a couple of months, you see things that you 'd never seen before, and you thing that you are really a part of a team that can do amazing stuff. Then, one day, things get more serious. This guy tells you, that if you want, you can learn how to do some of this stuff too, but you must officially enter the team. Then, there is an official ceremony that welcomes you to the team, by using a little of your , you know, it's symbolic, every one 's done, they'll say. So you 'll fell for it once again. After a long time, you start to realize that you are a part of a satanic group, but now you can not go away, either you need them, or you are afraid of them. Then one day, if not yet, you begin to see them making human sacrifices, but it's too late for you to leave. The thing is, that they'll never tell you, they are satanists, but when you know it will be very late. So be cautious. Don't trust anyone but your family. And as someone above said,
You shouldn't.....EVER!

In reality Satanist are not (or claim not to be) a form of Christian.
They are actually a pragmatic (and many would say selfish) group that believes that basically all humans are selfish and that that is normal. One of there precepts is that even when we are being nice, helpful, or moral it still, ultimately, to serve our own needs.
It is basically the other edge of the 2 edged "golden rule" sword. If you want to be left alone to do what you want then you must (at least appear to) respect other people's boundaries. "I do not like being hurt, so I will not hurt you (but we all know that we would do it if we would not get caught)"
Many would argue that there is also a disgruntled rebellious nature to many Satanists that says they are frustrated with the popular western, Christian hypocrisy that permeates America and Europe. Basically they say to themselves: It seems to Christians that if you are not with them then you are against them. I may as well be open about being against them.

The only reason why someone would become a Satanist is because it's what they personally believe in. They choose to believe Satan is "God" and is all knowing.

It's a sad thing to think about that. But I believe that perhaps the reason that someone would become one is cause they have lost their faith in God. Maybe something happened in their life that hurt so much they became angry at God. Perhaps they are looking for attention, even if they are unwilling to admit it. Maybe they like the idea of living in a world where there aren't consequences and a lust for doing anything they desire. There are soo many reasons but none of they are good.
I just pray to God who ever they are that they don't live their entire life like that. There will be a day where they will regret that and be judged by God. I personally would prefer to live a life in loving and knowing God, die and find out there wasn't a god then die and find out there was on and be damed to a life in torment.

It's the balance between good and evil. For every good thing, there's an evil thing. So for every one that worships God, there is someone who worships Satan or other evil deity.
