NEVEREVEREVER use the "pull out" method! Don't even do it because you figure it's "better than doing nothing." Why? It's because there are sperm in the lubrication that comes out of the penis when the man gets aroused--so even if he does't ejaculate in you, he still gets sperm inside of you.

Also, it should THEORETICALLY be impossible to get pregnant on your period, because, after all, a gal ovulates two weeks before her period starts, and she won't ovulate again until two weeks later, and how can an egg possibly live that long? Or sperm, for that matter--they don't survive that long, either? And yet it happens. It's rare, but it happens.

I saw an article in "New Scientist" magazine that might explain why this happens, even though it should THEORETICALLY be impossible.
The article says that there is a chemical in semen that can trigger a woman's ovulation, even when it's not time to ovulate! If what's in the magazine is true, then that means that there is NO SAFE TIME to have unprotected sex and assume that one cannot get pregnant.

A more-important question to ask is, "Why do women allow men to do this to them?" Back in the days before women commonly allowed men to have sex with them outside of marriage, women had the upper hand in relationships. If a woman had sex with a man, it was on HER TERMS, and he was GRATEFUL for it. Nowadays, all of the women feel that they have to do whatever the man wants, whenever he wants it, or he'll just dump her and go on to a more-accommodating woman. This is NOT GOOD FOR WOMEN!

In my opinion, the only solution to this problem is to realize that, just as a man can always find a more-accommodating woman, a woman can also find a more-respectful man! We should DUMP any man who complains about using a condom, who says, "Oh, please, baby, let me put it in...I promise I'll pull out in time," and other B.S. like that. No man is WORTH this nonsense! Sex is fun, but it's not so fun if you find yourself worrying about pregnancy and STDs. Remember, YOU run the show, and YOU are the one who is needed for consent in any sex act. Start putting yourself first, and you'll wind up with fewer, but way, way BETTER men in the long run.

Oh, and see a Planned Parenthood counselor to find out about EFFECTIVE birth control methods. That so-called "abstinence education" that they give in school is THE PITS! (And it bothers me to no end that my tax dollars are going to support this nonsense in all but three states. I am so proud of my state, California, for refusing to take the government money and thereby sell out their students!)

Possible, but highly unlikely. Nevertheless, you should always use condoms.

You should never rely on the withdrawal method at as reliable contraceptive strategy. Sperm can be present in fluids secreted by the penis prior to ejaculation. Sperm can also find their way into your body even if your parter ejaculates outside your body - on your fingers, on tissues, or sometimes the semen can spill down into your vaginal area if your partner ejaculates on your stomach, for example, and can easily enter your body via vaginal fluids.

And especially, because it takes a lot of self control and can make for an unsatisfying sexual expereince, some men, in the heat of the moment, just don't pull out in time.

It can also be very frustrating and unsatisfying for the female partner as well.

Get yourself to a doctor, nurse, counsellor or clinic and learn about your body, about contraception, about pregnancy, about STD's and HIV and about the responsibility that comes with entering into a sexual relationship.

The you won't have to ask these types of questions!

Wow, this question has never been asked before!

The answer is yes, although it is rare.

And the pull out method is great if you want to become parents.
