it looks like one of those thin pines on a pine tree.I don't have any real plants in my tank and it wasn't there yesterday.The fish suddenly looks dull and it's a goldfish.The people at the aquarium said that they would come but they never turned up.What can i do for now?

It sounds as if you have an anchor worm on the fish. Truthfully you can remove the fish from the tank with a wet towel (wet it in the tank) and remove the worm with tweezers. As these worms can also be on the fishes gills and could be on other fish in the tank, it's best to also treat the tank with a good parasite medication. Go to the pet store and get any parasite medication that contains Malachite Green as an active ingredient. It is quite effective at killing this type of parasite as well as many others.

they have a treatment that you put in your tank that gets rid of most fungi and fish ailments go to your local pet store and see what you can find maybe some one that works there could help you.
(i would not advise trying to pull it off!)
(you could find a vet that cares for fish and ask them too.)(fish vets are hard to find thou you'd just have to reserch your area to find out if you have one available)
