Why would they? Republicans created food stamps and GOP presidents increase socialistic Soviet style entitlements more than dems do (according to the conservative CATO institute)

I'm all about limiting the time you are able to receive aid, and how many kids you can pop out before being denied further aid. I mean, it's one thing to be doing well on your own and have a family emergency in which help is needed. What I mostly see is minors having kid after kid after kid, turning receiving aid into a lifestyle (I know of a 33 year old grandmother whose family is on aid... it just makes me sick). I was in line at the grocery store the other day behind some huge nasty woman and kids (who should have been in school during the middle of the day) spending $200+ on her EBT card buying soda, candy, chips, tons of name brand items and everything else under the sun that they certainly do not "need". I know that if I EVER needed such help, I'd be the first one in line using coupons, buying store brand items, only healthy food, etc to stretch that help as far as I could.

This one will be happy when no one in this country has a need for welfare, WIC, or food stamps. What makes it hard to see those programs continue is standing behind the woman in the grocery checkout line with her litter of (unruly) children paying for food with one or more of the above and then turning around and buying cartons of cigarettes with a $100 bill.

I believe that many social programs are grossly abused.
Unless your very disabled, mentally or physically, or elderly, I think you should not be allowed to collect.
And if you do, then you should have to preform some service in exchange... like going to a government run day care center and put in 8 hours babysitting while other single moms are out job hunting.
I also feel that if you are on any form of public assistance (other than Social Security for retirement) then it should be illegal for you to buy cigarettes, alcohol or lottery tickets.

No. Most HUMANS agree that we should help others out during their times of NEED. Key word is NEED.
I have a real problem when I'm at the grocery store behind someone with an EBT card (you know they have EBT because they still can't figure out how to use the cards and have to talk to the cashier about it) and they have brand name products, brand name clothing, brand name clothes on their two kids, a cell phone, designer purse, and piles of jewelry. That person clearly needs to learn how to budget and NOT at taxpayer expense.
I have a problem helping those who refuse to work. Those who claim they cannot find work. Those who continue to have children knowing the expenses involved. (Seriously, a pack of condoms costs about $8... )
I have absolutely NO PROBLEM helping people for a period of time while they are searching for work. And I have no problem helping those who are disabled or elderly (and were unable to save during their lifetime... I do have a problem helping the elderly who were just stupid but I guess we can't punish them after the fact, huh?)

Social programs don't help, they enable people to continue down destructive paths. There are plenty of charities to help the needy, and still require them to work towards Independence. One of the worst social programs you forgot to mention.Social security has to be eventually fazed out to be replaced with private retirement program controlled by the people that pay in.Liberals just want power, they aren't trying to help the poor. They don't support unborn babies because the don't have a vote , but the poor woman that has the abortion thinks that liberals are great, because she can avoid her responsibility's, and can just act like nothing happened.

Not me. I cannot stand to see children starve. And our Churches long ago abdicated their role in their neighborhoods and began building.
I would support limiting the size of the families, for both males and females. By sterilization or other permanent means.
And Boogity Man, it happens.
