HA HA HA! No, hun, it's 2 years, only 2! I think you read a misprint some where, lol. The average elephant is pregnant for 22-24 months.

lo, I think you may mean 20 months, though its 22. Though I dont pity the mother giving birth, not to an animal of that size! lol. Though it is interesting to learn about this kinda stuff, dogs are only pregnant for around 65 days, such a gap for the same process to be done hey?

22 months, the longest of any land animal. Good lord man, if they were pregnant for 20 years, the species would go extinct in a hurry!
