Well I can come up with several.
1. Making sure another tyrant does not take control of Iraq and start killing innocent people again.
2. Make sure terrorist do not start training in Iraq again. (remember 9/11?) We don't want another one of those.
3. To show the world that the U.S. supports freedom and can not be intimidated when some of their troops die, which will be discouraging to the terrorist.
4. Doing what's best for others is not always safe or popular.
5. Making sure Iran and North Korea understand that we will do what we say, no matter what the cost.
There are five justified reasons for you.
Do you realize we've had troops in Germany since WWII? We still have troops in Vietnam and Korea. Nobody complains about any of those. It's a fact that once you establish a new power in a country, there must be a military force present for several years to make sure the transition goes smoothly. Otherwise you've accomplished nothing. Every war in history has cost lives, and we have troops stationed all over the world. I'm not sure why everyone has decided we can't have them in Iraq, but we can leave them everywhere else.

Yea, well, we all support our troops by buying those little ribbon magnets that claim the same, but do you REALLY support our troops? Have you sent them food or water or any necessities they may need? We'd all like to think that we support our troops, but some support only the cause (I'm speaking, of course, about freedom). However, I see no reason for anymore of them to die, or for any of them to have died in the first place. Granted, civilians like you and I have not been over there, so we don't know what's going on... Nonetheless, I buy those $3 magnets whenever I get a chance. If not for the magnet business, then for freedom.

What is sad is, this what military does. That their purpose. Those that join "should" be aware of this, it not a get paid to "play" army, we did that as children,. This is get paid to protect your country and they using real bullets now. I was very aware of what the military job was when I joined. My buddy from school said he was going to drive a tank. I ask if he understood what driving a tank actually does? It not like the Video game. But, that what he wanted to do and everyone supported his decision. He is still alive.

As the vast majority of them would tell you -- so that many more of us don't have to die here.
"As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free."

In my eyes, there is never any justified reason for war. It's horrible.
