Hi, I have a laptop (mine and wife's) and a PC (15 yr old son's) running on a wireless internet network. I want to know if there is any way me and the wife can monitor our son's internet activity from the laptop. Because it's in his room and he's very IT savvy we are never sure whether the content he is browsing is appropriate. There is never any history or temp internet files on his PC, which made us alarmed! Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Find an older computer, install Endian Firewall on it. It has a very robust content filter. You can just set it to monitor and not block sites. Its a Linux distribution, but easy to install.

You can put a keylogger on his PC and watch every keystroke he makes. He may discover it though, so my humble opinion is tell him to quit clearing his history and you can then see where he has been.

You do this yourself by going above to Tools, Internet Options, and put at least 3 days in the Clear History area about 2/3 of way down in the window. Also tell him to leave his temporary files alone. You are his parents, he is underage. You have every right to do this.

If he is using internet explorer go to Tools menu and choose internet options.Select the content tab and enable the content advisor. You can choose settings here to block certain web sites and set up a password so he cant change the settings.

lol he knows your scams if you are the administrator you can get a program to see what he is doing as he does it not going to tell you what it is though if you give a fifteen year old boy full unrestricted access to the Internet he will look at porn there's nothing to wrong with that so why not stop spying on him ?

You could run a proxy server in transparent mode, then you would have logs of all browsing activity.

set up the server so as that all consumer expenses can in trouble-free terms get admission to web pages that you enable. (would I advise leaving google maps or mapquest unlocked so as that persons can get guidelines if needed on your organization)
