I am writing a business letter asking for investment.I am supposed to include citations and references in this. The thing that confuses me, is that is is a letter to a relative and I cant imaginf where a citation would be. If someone has any knowledge on this I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

If this is a request for investment, you may want to cite sources (like websites) regarding the sector/industry/product that you are seeking investors for. That way, you will be able to have a reference page.

e.g. If you are seeking investment to start up a Internet search engine company, you could make a reference to the number of visitors to www.yahoo.com every day (I'm sure you will think of a better one).

A citation is a business term, meaning where you have been given written commendation or acknowledgment for something you did within your job.
