On the February 9th edition of SmackDown! it was announced that Rey Mysterio would make his return on the February 23rd episode of SmackDown! to his hometown of San Diego, CA.

good news rey has not left the wwe. He is returning from a knee injury which he sufford in an i quit match againist chavo sometime ago, and he is set to make his come back at WRESTLE MANIA 23

No he's still recovering from surgery on his knee as a result of the injury he got last year v Chavo.The knee is taking longer to heal than 1st thought.He could be back by April.He's set to appear at next week's S/D.
I read somewhere that TNA are interested in hiring him.

He hasn't permanently left. He left momentarily to have surgey on his knee that was messed up before the "I Quit" match. He is supposed to make an apperance on Smackdown in one week.

He got injured on the 20th October 2006(MY BIRTHDAY) he got surgery and is making an appearance on friday night smackdown on the 23rd of february. He will making a match in around 4weeks maybe hope i answerd your question good enough thanks

No...he just took some time off because he was injured..he is coming back one week from tomorrow?...want proof? go to www.wwe.com or watch friday night smackdown tomorrow night they will be talking about it.
