I would look for something with a real transmission, these new style rubber drive wheel things are garbage. Belt drive is good, plus 2 stage{auger-thrower} does work better then single{just auger}. higher hp= better preformance. I know it's hard in this day and age of throw out products but steel is stronger then cheap crap. Be carefull with the big name store brands{sears lowes Home Depot walcrap etc...} the stuff they sell is made by the same company and for the most part is just junk.

Sidewalks and driveways The most powerful Toro you can lay your hands on. I just finished mu driveway and paths through my spare field. They have a unique return chute above the round chute that couples the entrance worm drive to the blower chute. It's a space age plastic return that senses overloading of intake snow to the blower. It actually returns the intake of snow to the front screw blades to be beat up and returned to the blower chute. Works like a charm. It easily handles a foot of snow wet or dry. I dogged snow plow drifts tow feet deep in front of mail boxes by pealing off 1/2 to 1/4 the width of the chute at a time. I've owned it for 2 yrs. and plugged it once with salt laden heavy slushy snow. It has independent wheel disengagements which aid turning an a dime.
