Ah, I remember it well, it was Albert Hammond who sang it. (liked the video-clip that went with it as well, it was very simple, he sat on a stool, and sang and played his acoustic guitar)

I don't know of any from the 70's, but there is one that sounds like a '70's disco song by The Quad City City DJ's called "C'Mon N' Ride It (The Train)", which was based on a sample of Barry White's 1974 song "Theme from Together Brothers".
