Well, these guys may be gone by then...............
1. Albert Pujols
2. Ryan Howard
3. Alfonso Soriano
4. A-Rod
5. Johan Santana
6. Carlos Beltran
I'd take one of these guys, depending on league settings:
1. Jose Reyes-stls a lot of bases, scores a lot of runs
2. David Ortiz-Manny still in Boston, hits a homer after every 10.3 ABs
3. Travis Hafner-Almost as good as Ortiz, hits a homer after every 10.8 ABs
You may not be lucky enough to get Hafner in the 2nd rd. If he does last that long, you were blessed. If Crawford hasn't been taken, and you have Ortiz or Hafner, I'd take him b/c he'll put up almost the same exact #'s as Reyes, only Reyes may score 20-30 more runs b/c of a lot better lineup! I've been in several drafts where the end guys on the wrap-around take a batter, and an "ace" pitcher, or two pitchers period! I hardly believe Crawford will be available at the 14th pick, but, you could still walk out with David Wright, Chase Utley, Lance Berkman, Derrek Lee, or Miguel Tejada. Either way, you'll have plenty of power hitters to choose from!
Good luck to you!

Johan Santana, if he's available. If not, Carl Crawford or Papi. Crawford would be my 1st choice over Papi but I am a member of Red Sox Nation, so I have to look long at Ortiz. If none of these are available, go with Chase Utley. He's a 4-5 cat guy and is solidly consistent. One other option would be Joe Mauer; it's typically a reach to take a catcher that high but it's not often that a catcher is your league MVP.
Good Luck!

Yes, please excuse the Jeter/Damon 1st round comment, definitely not 1st round worthy. Jeter's a good mid-late 2nd rounder though, depending what you need & what's gone.
I'm not sure who your league competitiors would choose 1-6, but here's my top 10.
1. Albert Pujols STL 1B
2. Ryan Howard PHI 1B
3. Alex Rodriguez NYY 3B
4. Alfonso Soriano CHC OF
5. Johan Santana MIN SP (Since becoming a full-time starter 3 yrs ago; 04' ERA: 2.61 & 265 K's, 05' ERA 2.87 & 238 K's, 06' ERA 2.77 & 245 K's)
6. Carl Crawford TB OF
7. Miguel Cabrera FLA 3B
8. Carlos Beltran NYM OF
9. David Ortiz BOS 1B
10. David Wright NYM 3B

7th pick... Alex Rodriguez, Vladdy Guerrerro, Carlos Beltran are all good picks. Santana also might be available if your league is not a pitcher heavy league, if he is grab Johan.

I'd say take Ryan Howard. But I doubt he'll still be there. So I'd say take Ortiz or Utley.
