The fact that he admited using drugs long ago in a book shows his honesty..The fact that he has gone on to become a top Presidential candidate, shows one can over come the use of drugs..!

I don't know - why don't you ask George W. Bush.
Oh wait! No, that's different. He was basically drunk until he was 40.
P.S. I know your question wasn't about Bush, but this is a valid point nonetheless. "What does that say to young people about a presidential candidate?" Well, I suppose it says that this candidate is just like the guy we've already elected in this respect!

Since the "War on Drugs" hasn't been won, unfortunately it has become normal for younger people to experiment with drugs. And if you want to hold this against him, it won't matter in the end. He's an articulate, intelligent, and sincere individual who is much better than what we have now.

What does it say?
Do you honestly think the youth look to a potential leader of this country to get their path in life? If a kid wants to try drugs, they will - it isn't going to matter how squeaky clean the guy (or girl) running for president is. Has it been that long since you've been there?????

,Actually it shows the ability to admit mistakes and correct them unlike the current occupant, also it says to young people trust my experience I've done it and stopped because it wasn't worth doing, do you lie to your kids? I don't I have an open honest relationship with mine & share both my sucesses and mistakes, by being trustworthy with my kids I feel they learn and don't have to repeat my mistakes on their own, it seems to be paying off, 2 in high honors programs and involved in the community and one headed done that path already at age 6
