That's an enormous question -- like asking what is the meaning of life, or what is a number.....
Physics is the most fundamental of all sciences. It describes the forces of the universe on three different scales: The cosmic scale (planets, stars, galaxies), the ordinary micro/macro scale, and the quantum scale (molecules, atoms, subatomic particles). Physics is the most mathematical of the sciences because it describes HOW everything in the universe works. Compared to Physics, all other science is just stamp collecting. Chemistry works because it must follow the laws of Physics. Biology works because molecules must obey the laws of Physics. All of Engineering is closely linked to Physics. As far as I know there are no exceptions (except, of course, non-sciences like religion). Many (most?) physicists are atheists because they deeply understand the mechanisms of the real tangible world and have no need of mystical magical fairy tales. In fact, among most scientists (especially physicists) unsubstantiated belief is considered a failure of the mental discipline required for rational thinking. Albert Einstein once defined physics as, "the study of the mind of God, if God actually existed."
Hope this helped...............

Physics, major science, dealing with the fundamental constituents of the universe, the forces they exert on one another, and the results produced by these forces. Sometimes in modern physics a more sophisticated approach is taken that incorporates elements of the three areas listed above; it relates to the laws of symmetry and conservation, such as those pertaining to energy, momentum, charge, and parity.

the word physics is derived from the Greek word "physis" which mean to discover the essential nature or real constitution of things.physicists are mainly concerned with rational knowledge.in physics knowledge is acquired through the process of scientific research in three stages like gathering experimental evidence about the phenemena to be explained, correlation of these facts with mathematical symbols prediction of results of further experiments which are undertaken to check all it's implications.

"PHYSICS " is a branch of science that deals with non-living things.
It gives us about the motion of the bodies and why the bodies are moving?
One thing you have to remember that without physics nothing is there.
