Go to the store and pick yourself up some Throat Coat tea. It has licorice root and other slippery elm....no it doesn't taste disgusting.
I'd forego the lemon as it is acidic and can actually dry you out. Stick to herbal teas, find some slippery elm lozenges (nothing with menthol, it too can dry you out) and drink a lot of water. Most cases of laryngitis are viral and go away on their own. If you only did a day of vocal rest that's not going to help with the inflammation. You might have to go 4-7 days and use a pad to write things down.
It's very frustrating and if all else fails see an ENT. I've only had this once but it was MISERABLE. Best to you.

Sounds like maybe you need some moisture in the air...if you do not own a vaprizer (hot or cold steam, does not matter); try putting a large pot of water on back burner and let it simmer so that the steam (moisture) goes into the air. If you maintain some humidity in air during these cold snaps, you will definitely feel better and it should also help boost your immune system. Hope this helps...God bless

Try to find out what caused it. Then you might get some answers for making it go away. As for suggestions, it seems like you've tried everything I know of!
Good luck.
