I'm due this coming Monday, Feb. 19th. I have a cold. Really bad cold! Like aching, stuffy head, cant breathe at night (also because of asthma). Im not running any fever, I just feel like crap. Do some of you think it is possible for the Dr. to put off the induction since Im sick? I just need something to relieve the aches, tried hot showers, but nothing works.

You can take all the acetominophen as the bottle says! Also, get some packets of *Emergen-C. It has 1000 mg of Vitamin C. Drink tons of water and you'll be better soon. I'm praying for you! YES, the doc can put off induction but won't put it past 41 weeks. Congrats!
*good for you AND yummy. gives energy w/out caffeine and safe for pregnant and nursing Moms... I have a cold, too now. My babe's 4 months.

You can take non-drowsy Sudaphed, Robitussin CF of DM. I just got over a cold myself, so these were on the list from my OB. I had a really bad cold with my last pregnancy. My OB had given me prescription cough medicine and antibiotics for my ear infection. I would call your doctor. He/she may want to examine you to make sure you don't have an infection. If you are feeling that bad and there's no reason you can't go past your due date, then I can't imagine why your OB couldn't postpone your induction until you are feeling better. Best wishes for a quick recovery and healthy baby!

Many cold medications have not been throroughly tested in pregnancy and do contain alchohol so before taking any over the counter medications you should check with your doctor first. Mine told me (when I was sick with a cold during pregnancy) that I couldn't take anything! It's a pain I know, however here's some natural tips for making yourself feel better: use cough drops to prevent coughing (coughing only makes your symptoms worse, so preventing it can quicken your recovery), drink lots of liquids to stay hydrated, use a humidifier to break up congestion, and use saline noes spray to dry up runny noes.

You can take a does of REGULAR tylenol, do NOT take a cold medication. People on here always try to talk you into it. its NOT healthy for the baby, ESPECIALLY this far into your pregnancy.
Use some nasal spray, squirt it in your nose until it runs down your throat a little, and then blow your nose. Do that atleast twice a day. I promise the cold will be over in a couple days.
Cold medications only make colds last longer since they stop your body from doing what it naturally does to flush them out. you can help your body flush and fight the cold by using nasal spray. Just a plain saline solution.

Take some Tylenol and call the doc. They may give you a script for something, especially due to the asthma. Call them and see what they say. Can't hurt anything! Best of luck!

You could try paracetamol to get rid of your aches and pains, it might be possible that your doctor will put off the induction but you would have to discuss it with him, but the paracetamol should be fine to take

Have you regularly been drinking hot herbal tea? Be careful about the specific herbal tea...but the hot, moist tea helps a lot.
