Precipitation that reaches the surface of the earth can occur in many different forms, including rain, freezing rain, snow, sleet, and hail. Virga is precipitation that begins falling to the earth but dries up before it reaches the surface. I believe that is 6, I am not sure if it is the six you are looking for. There are other ones like drizzle, freezing drizzle and other types of snow that are used by METAR to classify weather conditions for pilots.
