Good question. Maria would be a really good name. I guess the person who named her wasn't really thinking. But Dora is an easy name for the kids I guess.

or freshonda. i just spoke with someone on the phone named freshonda. thats great....not very mexican though. dora might be short for a longer more mexican name like doralisa or doralanda or something like that.
