I work in medical records and I haven't heard this. This might be a rule in your state or medical practice.

I'm taking computer classes right now, and in my Excel class, all of our class work, is about billing and the like...So, I would imagine medical records, also have to be put in the computer. Everything's gone "computer's!!" As a matter of fact, I missed a "Seminar" regarding working online, yesterday!! I really wanted to go to this seminar, too!! But, while I was in the "Ladies room" my friend lost our tickets, while he was waiting for me, he went and played the slots, at the casino's. And we had to miss it, which was very "Unfortunate, for me!!" I really was looking forward, to learning how to work, from home, on my own computer! I do believe the old days, when they kept "File Cabinets" are probably either gone, or on their way out!! But, then for emergency's you'd think they'd keep both!! Because you just never know when your computer is going to "Crash" or for do something along those lines, you know... Anyway, I'm not sure when this is going to take place, but if its like the town I live in, it seems as though, its already happening. Because, my dental office, was looking up all of my financial end of things online, while I was waiting to get the balance. So, that's where my source, came from. Smile!!!
