I think calling them handicapped and feeling pity r two opposite traits. In one you r making them feel about their diabilities and in other you feel for them. Hah! I think every person in this world is born with something special, ask their parents they will tell you what is the speciality in their child.
And ya never call them handicapped!

I am disabled and it get worse with age. When I was little I over heard (kids hear a lot of what their parents say when parents don't know the kids can hear) My Mother ask why my daughter? Why Pammie? She's a good kid. My Grandma said that child loves life more than any of the other do.God has a plan to use her just the way she is!
And he has! I teach Sunday School I sang in the Senior Choir I like people and I don't need pity and most disabled people I know of are the same way.One day when we get to Heaven I'll have a new healthy body waiting for me. I want to feel the grass under my left foot. I wore a brace until I was 10 years old. I couldn't take a step without it. Then I had that leg amputated three different times. Then I came down with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Now I can't walk at all and I am in am elect wheel chair. But I am happy. I am fine I just want people to accept me for me and not what they see when the look at me.So to answer your question Sweety like my Grandmother said all though years ago God is using me just as I am!

I am assuming you mean physical / mental handicaps. The fact that you can think so well, in itself shows you have a most fantastic gift of God. There are so many in this world who don't have any physical / mental handicaps, but can't think as well. They are not positive and don't have compassion. They are therefore incapable of doing good for mankind. You have the world open, and with your good mind you have immense potential to do so much good. Now go ahead and do it. You will soon realise that the real handicapped is in the mind.

having health problems, I believe one has abilities despite disabilities. Society puts too much focus on one's disabilities which doesnt help the individual at all, they hinder their esteem with such thinking. How can one say that since one is handicapped that they have a problem, yes they may be lacking something but they also may be gaining something bigger and better and in another area of their body, mind, and soul. It take great courage to live a life of disabilities that one does not choose to be in. God helps these individuals see their strengths in ways one didnt think they had. God helps us see the simple joys in life, to appreciate life for what it is through our difficulties, to help us remain positive and to show the worl what we are capable of. They are able to do things just like the able people but just at a different level, at a slowed pace. Everyone is good at one thing and not at another, why are they not classified as handicapped because their "disability" in not being able to do that task?

Life is a variety of things and none of it is a mistake or a misfortune. To be fully developed physically/ mentally does not necessarily equate wholeness or completeness. Handicapped people do not deserve pity but rather respect for their ability to survive irrespective. I pity those who are able-bodied but choose to live unwholesome lives. That is the disservice!

God does help them, in their own way. My mom suffered from Multiple Sclerosis(MS) for 22 years before passing away this past year. She could have felt sorry for herself, and i'm sure she did some, but she didn't show it. She knew this was the life she was meant to have. And she used it to reach out and help others and teach others. She was a true blessing, and God used her disability to help others. Being handicapped is just part of life, and although many suffer they learn to live with it and cope the best way they can.

Its all fate. But many handicapped achieved many things which even as you told gifted person cant achieve.
God will always create human with some talents.I think god created them because ordinary human has to be aware that they were more blessed and born with gift to work hard and help these handicapped and be worthwhile to others.
so,we all have to help these handicapped and make GOD to be proud of his gifted creatures(we).

you're very on factor with that assertion. Animals are in a position to make options, and study. Pavlov did prepare that a dogs can study, react to specific stimuli, and in fact isn't a creature of organic instinct. Pavlov's study additionally proved that a dogs is ideal to the Nurture attitude greater so than the character attitude.

It is people like you who make it difficult for them. Realize that they care two hoots for your pity. Understanding them is good enough and here is the tissue to wipe your tears!!! Remember that they more than compensate the so called handicap with their resolve. So dont worry about them, worrry for yourselves first and take care
