The first time i saw David Bentley was against Middlesbrough and he scored a chip from 20, 25 yards out in the 2003 FA cup. I still remember the headlines. 'BENT it like beckham' newspaper headlines suck.
Anyway, he was OK then, but is better now. He is scoring goal after goal for Blackburn, but like Shaun Wright-Phillips and Andy Johnson they were great for their clubs but international matches prove to be too much for some players. I reckon David Bentley would prove to Mclaren that hes good if he got an opportunity, but that has to be left to fate

He's a quality player, although recently he seems to fade in the second half of matches. I think in another couple of years he will be an England regular

def in the squad we need back up for rooney, same type of player. just rooney is world class. johnston bent lita are main strikers. we need another seconed striker.
