I have small chips and discolorations on the front bumper of my Civic. It is from rocks on the road and maybe bugs that didn't get washed off fast enough. Any way to fix this without having the whole thing taken off and painted? I have read the reviews of Maaco on the boards here so I guess that isn't a good route.

I work at a Ford dealership. You might call your local Honda dealer & see if they could help. We have a guy that comes out to fix small chips & such on vehicles we have in inventory. Or... you could check the yellow pages to see if there are any dent repair/chip repair specialists listed.

Unfortunately warranty does not cover any paint damages, due to the fact that damage can be prevented. The only thing warranty covers is mechanical such as your transmission and engine problems and any parts that maybe defective and recalled. If you decide to paint your bumper it should run about 250-300 dollars, make sure you take it to a paint and body shop if you decide to get it repaired at a dealer this could cost you double due to dealer price and bogus things they say just to squeeze out more money.

my neighbor actually has a 2002 civic and when she gets that stuff on her bumper, she takes a small bottle of paint to it.

I'd just live with it. It's gonna get chipped again if you paint it. Maybe dab some paint on the worst of it.

It's called "Touch Up Paint" and you can buy it from any Honda Dealership Parts Department.
The small bottles are like $4.95 - $6.95 each (much like nail polish).
They'll ask you for the paint color code that's listed on inside of the driver door.

It may take several applications for you to see the difference.

Good luck..
