Taipei 101, Petronas Towers, Sears Tower (in order). Althought The Sears Tower should, in my opinion, be considered tallest. It has 110 stories, Taipei 101 has only 101, and Petronas have 88. But they're considered taller because their antennas count as part of their structure (for some reason). Look at the pictures (link below)

depends on what you mean by building. the tallest free-standing structure is the CN Tower in Canada, and there is a Radio mast in South Dakota somewhere that is the tallest man-made structure on the planet, but it is supported by guide wires. also, check out the new building going up in Dubai called "Burj Dubai" which, according to most speculation, should be the tallest building in the world (twice as tall as the Empire State Building) as well as the tallest man-made structure of any type.

Like the first answerer stated, it depends upon your definition of tallest and building.
If you define:
building - structure used by persons for habitation or business occupation
floor - space or area used by or occupied normally by persons
tallest - greatest length from ground level to uppermost floor of structure
This would result in the winner being still the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois, USA. There are other structures which are taller from ground to roof top , but I do not believe any have "taller" used floors.
