We currently have Nextel. If we switch cell phone companies will we still be able to walkie talkie our friends that have Nextel? Will we be able to keep our phone number?

Boost mobel, US cellular I believe has it, Verizon, Cingular, and I believe T-Mobile has it as well.

I do not think you will be able to walkie talkie your friends on Nextel if you switch companies, I think that is a network feature that can only be used on the same network you are on.

You will be able to keep your # since most carriers allow you to switch your #'s over.

Cingular has PTT (Push to Talk) which is a walkie talkie feature. We pay $19.00/month for unlimited use. It's great!
