As far as I know, hydroquinone 2% needs a prescription. The brand I used is Obagi, but it was only one element in a whole line of skincare products that my dermatologist prescribed to get rid of acne and to refine the look and texture of the skin. You might want to try actually going to the chemists in your area and asking the pharmacist if they have it available over-the-counter, but it may be of the lower-strength variety, if it is at all available.

In anycase, I would definitely seek the advice of a reputable dermatologist in your area so that he/she can diagnose your condition and decide which product would work best. You might find that there is a better approach other than applying hydroquinone as you originally thought.

Best of luck, hope this helps you in some way!

I know you can get it from some Walgreen and CVS stores....it's in a purple box and the brand name is Black & White...its said bleaching cream on it but its really not...I use it to smooth out blotches on my skin instead of foundation and it works great. It has 2% Hydroquinone in it but I've been using it for like 8 years.

I don't understand why people want to lightening their skin colour. I have very pale skin and no way to give it any colour. Be sure not to ruin your skin and end up looking all blotchy or like Michael Jackson.
