Ok. After reading alot of these questions and answers, I have officially become disturbed. ALOT and I do mean ALOT of you are using the morning after pill for questions and answers....and using it as a form of birth control....which is something it IS NOT. It is used as an emergency resolution. It seems almost like everyone is using it as an excuse to have unprotected sex. So, I want to know why this "morning after pill" is being taunted as a form of birth control? I'm not disagreeing with those who have already or may use it. I just think it should be used for its intended purpose instead of a form of birth control. Am I wrong? Are people being misinformed about this? Please read the included link on this...as it states at the top of the web page...EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION! http://www.morningafterpill.org/

I agree with you, it is disturbing. But what do you expect in this day and age where many people are using abortion as a form of birth control as well?

I'm not sure if people are being misinformed or if they are simply just abusing something that should be used in an emergency situation only. I have used the morning after pill on one occasion. My b/f at the time had sex and the condom broke and we were not wanting to have babies (hence the condom) so I took the morning after pill.

It is not to be used as regular birth control, if you are going to have unprotected sex get on regular birth control if you don't want babies.

I am christian however I don't love god more then my children. I think that maybe the reason some do is because they are scared that won't make it to heaven. I don't know the bible word for word but I think somewhere lost in translation peole read into it that god says you must love him over all. You must remember that the king james version isn't just written by prophets, but also by pageans (sp). I learned that when all these shows were talking about the devinci code. it was on date line, primetime etc. though all the info in the bible is true some of it was translated by pagens (sp) This is the best answer I can give you.

I totally agree with you. It disturbs me too that people think that it's great to use as their only type of birth control. If people don't want to get pregnant they need to be protecting their body consistently, not just the morning after unprotected sex. That's a great link to have there - thank you for saying what so badly needed to be said.

you may be disturbed yes.... but I do agree with you prevention is better than cure not to mention std's.
But I know for a fact that some people think sex is a tabo subject.
Parents need to sit there kids down and have a chat and not be embarressed.. My mum did with my brother and I and I have always felt as if we could come to her with any problem sexual or not, no questions was tabo.
My husband was brought up in a different way he was only ever given one lesson of sex ed in school and nothing from his parents (uk) I was given 3 whole years (and abit more in primary school) of hour long classes once a week on health, std's, protection and conracteptions (in australia), no one though it was funny or embarressing. we just learnt it and took it all it, sure soime kids still made mistakes but at least we were better educated on it.

The sad truth is you cannot control how women choose to care for their bodies. Some choose to have unprotected sex whenever they like, and simply take a magical pill to make everything scary go away. Its not the right way to do things, but since its available on the market to anyone who demands it, its just the way things will continue to be.

Personally I believe it should be for rape victims, and women in DIRE medical situations, and not just teenage floozies who cant get on birth control.

i have an even more disturbing scenario. i used to work in a surgical recieving ward where A LOT of younger girls would come in to have surgical abortions. some of these girls would be in repeatedly for this using abortion as a form of contraception and no matter how you try to educate these children they would not listen.

ugh i totally agree with you. it is infuriating to hear that people would rather have unprotected sex and then take plan B, like that pill will erase the EXCHANGE OF FLUIDS that took place. some people don't even think about the fact that there are OTHER REPRECUSSIONS to unprotected sex like STDs. crazy, crazy people.
