Use a brown paper bag and an iron on low - works like a charm.

The paper bag soaks up the wax so depending on the size of the spill you may need more than one bag.

Use ice to harden the wax and chip it off as much as possible. The rest can be taken up by placing several paper towels over the wax, and gently touching with an iron set on low until the wax is melted and absorbed by the paper towels.

I accidentally melted a 3 wick into my carpet. Read somewhere that putting wax paper over it and ironing it would work..so I tried and I was very impressed...it picked it right up!!!
