I'm sure I remember a marvellous elfin photo of her in the role in the Daily Express, sometime in the early to mid 1950's. It was accompanied by a glowing review which promised a brilliant future career. Have I dreamt this?

I remember her in a film version as Puck, but I can't find anything to back it up. When she appeared as Titania in Midsummer Night's Dream in 1968 she was 28 years old, so I am not sure of your 1950s date.

Maybe it was our Midsummer Night's Dream!!

In the mid-fifties we went on a School Outing to Stratford-on-Avon. At the Shakespeare Theatre we saw a production of "Midsummer Night's Dream". Puck was played by Judi Dench, whom I remember for her impressive agllity when leaping all over the scenery. She would have been in her early twenties.
Not a fantasy at all, but a great experience.

There is no reference for her even playing a nymph in her bio below. Sorry, it must be a surpressed fantasy you have. : )
