Someone told me I was single faceted "which is not a bad thing"-and that normally means it is.

Are you multi-faceted and what does that mean to you?

I do consider myself multi-faceted. Who ever told you, you were single faceted, wasn't exactly being nice. But not knowing the context, let's go with a bad attempt at a complement.

This isn't necessisarily a good interpretation, but to say you are singled faceted is to say you are one dimensional in your personality. If meant as a complement, it was probably meant as you are what you seem. Your not two-faced. Seeming one way with someone and a different way with some else.

Generally a multi-faceted person is a complex individual. Like Shrek says in the original movie. He's like an onion - he has layers. The better you get to know someone the more layers you uncover.

My guess is that whoever said you are single faceted doesn't know you that well and hasn't yet discover your layers.

I am guessing you haven't yet discovered all your own layers yet. As you do have fun :)

A gem stone is often multi-faceted as it can have a great many cut surfaces. A person's gifts or abilities may be described as multi-faceted when they range over a number of differing areas.

The word "multi-facet" is an adjective and basically means fact the possessor has many different parts (or qualities) to their individual personality make-up. This denotes someone who is neither shallow nor transparent but rather somebody who can associate with many different people on a wide range of levels of society and interact with Them over a number of diverse issues.
I'm a Male Nurse. I work with People all day long. To Me being called 'multi-faceted' is a compliment.
You were told that You were 'single-faceted'. That is just another way to say that You are not complicated and that You are not hiding Your feelings. The world is full of fake people, and You are NOT one of Them! This "is not a bad thing".

It means that there are many sides (facets) to your personality and character. I consider that a definite compliment even though the person may have meant that you are too complex. Yes, I am multi-faceted. Very much so. And I am thankful for it also. I would hate to think my life was flat or plain. You are worth much more.
