Testosterone-driven special effects, "chick-flicks," gorey horror movies -- there's a ton of those, but more serious movies like "Queen" aren't really packaged for general consumption. Still, every once in a while, a "Titantic" comes out and people go to the movies in droves.

What's your kind of movie, and does Hollywood make enough of them or too many?

No, Hollywood hasn't made "my kind of movie" for a long time.
It keeps making superhero/comic book crap, and sequels, and remakes that are not any better than the original movies. The last time I saw my kind of movie was back in 2003, the film: 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. The Director was Peter Weir, and the actor was Russell Crowe. Hollywood could easily make one of these kind of quality story/acting/direction films every year, but it has fallen off.

Hollywood movies used to do it for me, but now there seems to be a formula they use to generate 2,5 star "safe" movies, which they produce with a budget of x amount and receive an income of y amount.
I prefer to watch movies from Europe now, they seem to focus more on life appropriate issues and have a genuine plausible story line.
Hope that helps,
Cheers
