actually i think that would me.. seriously-they have a hard time focusing , sitting still and are easily frustrated-they are VERY bright and creative -but the attention factor is were they become angry and distracted -yes i agree w/ the nutrition theory but keep a log to see what sets it off..and sometimes just getting up from a project and walking around helps me-i fidget terribly-forget what im doing right in the middle of something

My son's school has just contacted me telling me that they believe he has add also. I suspected it myself. His behavior is not bad, but it is very difficult for him to listen and follow instructions.I thought that he was just being "bad" and not listening and it was like he was on a sugar high 24-7.There are many ways or it to be treated.Medication,therapy,etc.I would try to avoid medication because it can have a very long term effect on the child. They would most likely rely on medication until they become an adult. My brother was also diagnosed at the age of 7 and was put on riddylin. My mom said that it was the worst thing they could have done for him.Good luck-Im there with you!

I personally do not have a DD child, but I have worked with them. In our school district we have child find and when we do get these children, they get into the program by age 3. We have professionals that work directly with them, preschool teachers, physical therapists, speech/language therapists, psychologists, social workers, professional teaching assistants, and occupational therapists. The key to the child's success is EARLY INTERVENTION.

They said that my son had a.d.d. and wanted to put him on Ritalin (this is about 8 years ago) but we found that we could control it thru diet.

My youngest was diagnosed with that. He just doesn't pay enough attention in class. He is definitely not hyperactive, in fact he's the opposite. Very unmotivated. But he behaves well, doesn't cause problems in the classroom, and is generally a really good kid.
