I have some scratches on my car, most of which were there when I bought it. Should I take it to MAACO to be repainted or to a car body shop? How much do these cost, and what exactly is detailing and what does that cost? I detest physical labor so no "do-it-yourself" advice please.

A good body shop is the best palce to start. Call around and tell them what you have. Some places specilaize in different areas (collision repair, custom paint, etc.)

If the scratches are not deep in most cases they can be buffed out. You would need the right equipment so the best place to take it to is a body shop. They will be able to tell you what will need to be done.

Try here:

Look up one in your area. They're not outrageously expensive and will leave it brand new.

Good Luck.
