assalam o alikum
well i m in the same situation
i usually find out that u have to b friendly with them, u cant force them to work unless u motiviate them.... and they motivate when.... first of all u r also motivated, this will b visible from ur behaviour.
second u can involve them in meaningfull work,
tell them u will have to submit report of the work u do...
give them certificate for good performance....
some acknowledgement of their contribution... may b a pat, or announcement in class or a note on notice board etc..
try to involve with them, i mean ask them individually if u feel they need help etc.,
when u meet them, greet them first ( salam or what ever u use to greet)
teach them with fun, some games etc. but control the situation as well. coz sometimes kids goes out of control
empower them for the tasks u have assigned them, so that they feel free
take their feedback on regular basis, and mould ur strategy accordingly. this will give them a feeling that u care them and u value what they say....
and alot of things u can do.
well i m involve in running 'STUDENT VOLUNTARY PROGRAM" so these some points i have learnt from there
i will think on this more, and will send u some more tips, if u want:)
