Assuming that Kidd and Nocioni come back healthy next week, would trading Jason Kidd, Al Jefferson and Andres Nocioni for Ray Allen and Jason Terry look okay for me, considering I am in need of serious help at shooting guard? Is this a fair offer to the other owner? Thanks for the help, guys.

As for the notion that Al Jefferson is easily forgettable and can be easily replaced in free agency, I highly disagree. He is one of only 8 players (yes, 8) in the NBA that is averaging 10 points, 10 boards and 1+ blocks per game. That is not easily replaceable.

For the purpose of this trade, assume Kidd and Nocioni are healthy, as I will not make the offer until I see them play, as I don't trade injured players.

Assuming... right, don't ever assume with injured player, that's my advice.

Kidd/Jefferson/Nocioni = lots of assists, good rebounding, lots of 3 pointers
Allen/Terry = 3 pointers

You need to have a guard like Deron Williams and shooting guard like Monta Ellis instead. As for the 3 pointers, I suggest a low profile like Jason Kapono or else, go with Mike Miller or Al Harrington

I wouldn't do it if I were you.

Take the deal. Nocioni is injured, but he will be back after the break, but he is not as good as Allen or Terry. Kidd is better in assists than Terry, but you should not pass up 2 top 20 players for 3 top 100 players.

if i were the other owner, i would not accept this deal. while jason kidd is a very strong fantasy point guard, nocioni and jefferson are forgettable. they are only decent and could easily be replaced with players of equal talent in the free agency. if you can get the other owner to accept this deal, do it in a heartbeat because you are getting a steal.

as for jefferson being better than the free agency replacements, i understand stats-wise that he is better. however, depending on the type of scoring your league uses, fantasy stats-wise he might not be very strong. 10 points and 10 rebounds are not worth very much in most leagues. forward/centers who get more blocks, steals and assists will make more fantasy pointsthan jefferson in most leagues, even if their actual stats are weaker

no you cant trade al jefferson now come on! hes one of the best rebounders and scores in the paitn you got look at that. and then you got nocioni scoring about 15 pre game and kidd with the triple doubles. allen is struggling i think and terry wont get you enough points that al and nocioni will combined.

first off kidd is a triple double threat nightly when healthy. i would never move him. until he retires. he is one of the most consistant pg's in the league and when needed he steps in and hits a big shot. jeffereson is a beast on teh boards and nocioni has his games and has great potential. i could see moving all but kid but i would not go with Ray allen, he is good and all but he has been locked down on numerous nights by not so great defenders. (Kevin Martin in sac, held him to 7 points in a game earlier this year) and jason terry is good but he isnt consistant enough and has too many other weapons on his team to get anything more than alot of assists if dirk stays on his tear. id wait and humor some other deals but keep kidd

you gotta see what you gain.

when you receive Allen/Terry you suddenly get a huge boost in shot attempts / points/ FT%/ 3's (TONS OF 3's)/ Assists (allen + terry + 3rd person > the 3 you have).

you lose out significantly on boards, all three of your guys are 6+ boards a game kind of guys. You lose out on blocks. BUt you gain on turnovers, JT has a ridiculously low T/O rate for a PG at 1.8.

you have to look at what your needs are, dont trade for the sake of trading.

you find you are losing in 3's and assists and FT%? by all means make the trade.

If you think you need the boards/steals/blocks? then dont make the trade.

don't forget, whenever you make a 2 for 3 deals you can always pick a 3rd person from free agency, dont forget to count them into the equatioin.

Jefferson is not easily replaceable... but that looks great for whoever gets Allen/Terry if you have other big men. The only way that works out as fair for both sides though is if the other owner is very weak on big men and highly strong on SG.

yes kidd is hurt so its practically jeferson and noch for allen and terry. Allen is one of the best shooters in the league. Terry averages about 10 points a game. Allen can help with free-throw shooting and 3point shooting. I would do it if I were you
