When it comes to optimization a blog it is no different to any other site and you use the same strategy and techniques.

Google automatically picks up any blog that's been around for a while with Blogsearch.
People get to mine all of the time, and I never gave them my URL.
Try searching for keywords in your blog, such as its name or the title of a recent post. You'll be surprised what you find.
