The UVA rays from the TV and computer are damaging to the retina,it gives you headaches as well.

When I was little there wern't computers, so I had no argument. I've never thought of that..... hmm good question.
My guess would be TV's are bigger so that may be a factor

It is a myth that it hurts your eyes, and the radiation will cause permenant damage...but good point!! Although I must say without my glasses, this screen is hurting my eyes!!

Then just move away from it. Not that hard. It is safer to be away from it to save yourself from getting epileptic fits etc.
