Hi. I'm 5'9" and I'm 17 years of age. I have always dreamed of dunking a basketball. I'm currently using Air Alert to boost my vertical leaping. I'm starting to think that my height is going to hinder my success. What should I do to be able to, at least, dunk? Will I still grow a couple of inches?

Ankle weights are VERY BAD for your knees!

if you go to jumpusa.com you'll find a weight belt you can wear instead that is much better for your knees and more effective because it's more comfortable to play basketball in (mostly during drills)

I'm guessing you just want to play basketball like it's some kind of And1 highlight show on ESPN2.... that's not real basketball that manure has corrupted basketball and made it worse!

A layup counts the same 2 points as a dunk, if you want to be a better basketball player remember that.... Basics and Fundamentals before Showtime, got it?

Calf exercise is best. If you stand up a step with the back half of your foot off the step, and raise yourself up with just the front half, its a good work out. Do that for like 10-15 minutes a day plus other workouts, you will be fine. I am 5'7 with shoes on and can almost reach the rim!

yep try building up ur calf muscles. Skip ropes also help. u can still probably grow a couple of inches but genetics play a huge part, if ur parents are small its likely that u wont grow alot.

Try explosive leg presses and wearing ankle weights. I am really not sure, but that seems like a logical way to go.

it's definitely hard. work on some regular leg excercises, as well as strengthening your calf muscles. try that for at least a year or two and maybe you can do it. good luck.
