It is safe to dye your hair while pregnant in a well ventilated room. I dyed my hair while being pregnant and never had a problem but some woman do. There is a possibility it may not take or be a different color than what you expected.

It's safe to color your hair during pregnancy. If you are lighting it significantly, then the developer used might be stronger, so make sure the area is well ventilated to avoid additional fumes. I've read the only time to avoid color and perms are in the first 8 weeks when all the organs are forming. The only reason to avoid perms otherwise is because they say your hair may not take the perm due to changing hormones. I colored my hair throughout my last pregnancy and my daughter is perfectly healthy. Best of luck to you.

I would ask your doctor to make sure what he thinks. There are many different chemicals in hair dyes and they can get into your blood line and travel to baby. Even the boxes of hair dyes say to refer to the doctor before using. Good luck.

There's a research conducted by a group of people stating that the dangerous effect of dying hair. What's more, you're pregnant right now! Therefore I suggest not to dye your hair because it may affect yourself and the embryo.
There's still much time to do it ~ no need to rush! :)
Anyway, wish you to have beautiful baby! Take care...

Based on these recommendations, I would say you are probably safe. Check out the links for more info. I hope that helps. (Remember, whatever you do when you are pregnant, someone somewhere will tell how bad it is. They may or may not be right.) Take care.

I was told that it was safe to Dye your hair at home or at a salon. However if you are bleaching/lightening your hair you need to tell the hair dresser that you are pregnant, your hair is different and will damage easier if bleach is left too long.

If you've been coloring your hair all along and this is not just a whim, go for it. Me and Loreal were best friends through out my entire pregnancy.
You may want to ask your doctor, especially if you are a high risk pregnancy, but so long as you are in a well ventilated area you should be fine.

Yes, the reason you shouldn't do it is because your scalp will absorb some of the chemicals from the dye and they will enter your baby's bloodstream through the umbillical cord.
Fetuses, which are still developing, are far more susceptible to chemicals than we are. You should avoid unnecessary exposure.

Its' fine for you to color your hair. I'm a hairdresser and have dyed many ,many pregnant women's hair while preggo. Not to mention that I always colored mine when I was pregnant. I'm fine and my baby is fine. It's important for you to maintain oyur looks while pregnant as your body is changing and we tend to feel a little less confident. You feel much better if your hair is done.
