You don't need to have a degree in computer science to get a job as a programmer. A programmer can be any idiot who knows a programming language like C++ or Visual Basic. I would study electrical engineering w/ a minor in comp sci. It should be easy because there should be few overlapping classes. It's not like trying to get a minor in art history; you would have to take an entire different body of study. To get an electrical engineering job out of school, you'll need a degree. W/ programming, you can get a job w/out a degree. Studying electrical gives you options.

It completely depends on your taste. If you are interested in a dream salary go for computer science as main. Why do you waste your time studying some other branch and finally become a software engineer. But if you are really interested in electrical or communication go for it. I opted for civil engineering, though I could have got computer science. Now Iam doing research in it and have lots of papers published. It is completely your choice.
