Tell me about some rumours or true stories about players messing around with teamates wives/girlfriends. Did they cause bad blood? Did players fight over the women? Did players get traded?
Some I recall were Lindros with Brindamour's wife while on Philadelphia. Brindamour told the Philly Brass either he or Lindros had to go and so they dealt Brindamour(foolishly). I also heard about Gary Leeman with Al Iafrate's wife on my Leafs.
Another Leaf one was Shane Corson with Alex Mogilny's wife.
They could all be rumour and I am not a gossiping type of person but if this crap really goes on I just can't fathom why anyone would mess with team chemistry just to get laid.

The Brindamour rumor also suggested that the most recent concussion Lindros was suffering from came at the hands of some teammates and not on the ice. Other wild rumors were Shanahan with Craig Janney's wife in St. Louis and Jeff Brown with Kirk McLean's wife in Vancouver.
There was also a Ted Nolan rumored to be with Hasek's wife making the rounds.

sometimes people just don't think with the right head.it doesn't just happen in the nhl or any other sport it happens in every day life. i think when someone does something like that they are being selfish and not considering everyone it will effect.i haven't heard those rumors but that doesn't mean that you haven't,i would think it would mess up team chemistry and alot of places have rules that forbid such behavior and the one that causes the infraction is the one to go!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that an NHL player could have any woman he wanted. Most woman would not go for this.
Aside from that...you forgot that Mike Comrie was run out of Edmonton for messing with Sammy Salo's wife.

The Shanahan/Janney thing wasn't a wild rumor. Brendan Shanahan is currently married to the former Mrs Janney and they have three kids.

Its hard for the wife/girlfriend of hockey players. Their security is at stake b/c whoever wanted to hurt them knows when their husbands/boyfriends will be out of town for a game.
Also, they probabaly don't see their guys alot anyway.
NHLers shouldn't do that...friendship is more important than screwing with another guy's girl.

Uh, they're men! In any situation, when all people are exposed to in social situations are other people's spouses, stuff happens! Plus "it take two to tango"!
