well, when i went to the dentist and got my teeth cleaned about a month ago my dental hygenist said that yes, bleeding gums are common in prengnancy, but if you get your teeth cleaned, brush and floss really well at least 2 times a day, and rinse with a good mouthwash the bleeding should subside. i havent had any bleeding in about 3 weeks :)

here's what i do twice a day:
floss
brush (not a soft brush)
rinse with salt water
rinse with a good mouthwash

I had this problem too. Towards the end of my pregnency my gums were bleeding even when i hadn't even touched them and i was getting blod clots in my mouth, not very nice! Nothing really helped. I asked my dentist and he said it was normal and there wasn't anything i could do except brush twice daily with a soft brush, floss daily and keep the dentist visits regular.

Hey! I seen you are due 2 days before me with a girl. I am having a girl too! awesome! If you want to talk that would be cool, my email is steph_kay33@yahoo.com. About the bleeding gums, I have that bad too. I have rinsed my mouth out with baking soda and it seems to help a bit. Good Luck!

make sure you see a dentist while you are pregnant, the pregnancy will take a lot of your calcium away and it can make your teeth rot...while youre at the dentist tell them about your gums bleeding

Brush more often to make your gums stronger.

I don’t know if there’s anything you can do to stop it or lessen it, but you should see your dentist for a cleaning and make sure that you keep up with your brushing and flossing.

If you are only 23 weeks old, you should forget about brushing your tooth nubs and instead go on TV immediately for your incredible typing skills. I am sure you would be a millionaire overnight.

I have had it twice and you can't do anything about it. It's normal and a pain in the butt but.....it'll be over soon enough. Good luck with your baby and your gums!

Happened to me also. Just be extra gentle; mine subsided later on during the pregnancy.
