I think he learned his lesson after storming Iraq to remove their "weapons of mass destruction". I admit though, he did do a good job with North Korea. Then again, you just don't screw with a midget dictator.

we'll see how long it lasts. Countries like North Korea and dictators like Kim Jong-Il don't usually follow "peace treaties" or "disarmament pacts" very well. In fact, it usually does not last very long at all. And for the person that said "maybe we should have tried that with Iraq" are you brain dead? We DID try that with Iraq. We negotiated with Saddam about UN weapons inspections and he wouldn't allow inspectors into areas or wouldn't allow them to do inspections at all. We had a deadline and he still did not comply... so we attacked. The "liberal" way did NOT work with Saddam, but it was not for lack of trying. Do any of you actually READ the news or get informed at all before you start spewing your skewed idea of current events? Please, people, I'm sick of the ignorance on here... can you please do a little bit of research and form an intelligent, fact-based question to ask on here? I'm sick of seeing ignorant rubbish.

The liberal's wanted him to return to the same uni-lateral talks that Kim Jong Il used to sucker Clinton out of millions... twice.
Bush insisted that he would only negotiate via multi-lateral talks and that is what worked. Plus if KJI changes his mind again he will not just be going against a treaty signed by the US, but also the other 5 countries.
And now it appears President Bush was right about Iran also... the Ayatollah publicly reminded Ahmadinejan he is not the supreme ruler of Iran, the clerics are... and the clerics are tempering his anti-American rhetoric.

If I remember Jimmy Carter brokered the last deal with NK and it turned out to be a fiasco of epic proportions. We can only hope that anything the Koreans agree to do will be subject to the strictest monitoring and verification conditions. I would not trust them any further than I could throw Kim Jong Il.

by liberal tactics, do you mean sitting on our hands for the last several years talking each other to death? N.Korea is not going to let it go that easy. we should have been more forceful with them a long time ago when they started their nuclear program. now, they've got the know-how, the time to cover up what they don't want the west to find, and we'll be giving them aide??? wth. mistake. all i can say.... mistake. history!! read history!!! remember history!! history is our best friend!
MAD ROY: lol, i bet i could throw that korean football to the other side of china!!!

Put down the crack pipe. You idiots said he should deal with N. Korea like Clinton did. George was smart enough to get others involved in the six party talks. More people to hold Kim Jung Il's feet to the fire!

I wish I could agree with you Chi--I really do. History however; proves that Kim Jong-IL twice has promised and made nice, only to do exactly what he wanted to do after he got what he wanted out of the deal. It in fact, our nuclear technology that he is using to enrich plutonium (1996).

I doubt it works. Lil' Kim seems like one of those people who don't believe in fire until he gets burnt. Trust me, this isn't the end of that matter.

First of all, whether you like it or not, there is more than one Democrat in the world, so the word you meant to use is "Democrats'," and not "Democrat's."
Secondly, sure, if it works, great. And I'd say that all you people who claim that trying to negotiate makes us "weak" or is "unAmerican" owe all us Democrats an enormous, Olympic-class apology.
