Never heard the ketchup idea before. Where did that come from? You can buy what is called a "pee-post" from pet shops. It attracts the dog to pee on it. If you stick the post in a particular corner of the garden you may be able to limit the burning patches to a small section of the garden. Reinforce this by praising her when she uses the post. The only other option I can think of is to try walking her more so she "empites out" whilst on the walk, keeping your garden spotless. That can obviously be time-consuming, though.

If you go out with him hose down the area he wee's on and it won't turn yellow/brown. Or you'll have to walk him away from the grass and into the woods or tree line. I know of no way to stop the grass or shrubs from dying..except prevention or water.

Water the grass occasionally (like once a day, early evening is better so the water doesn't magnify the sun and burn your grass more). Grass needs a LOT of water anyway, and the water will dilute the urine.

Your dog is intact, huh? That's why. The reasons it does that is because of the hormones, neutered males don't kill the grass when they pee. Give him more water, it might help.

When he been, water the spot of grass that he uses .The water weakens the acid in his urine.Luckily most dogs go in the same spot.

I've had the same problem. The only thing that worked for me was taking him for a walk in the park.

Try walking your dog, so he pees elsewhere other than on your grass?
