Parents generally love their children unconditionally. But learning that their child is gay may come as quite a shock to most parents. They need time!

What parent is forced to accept decisions their child makes? Like why should children love parents unconditionally? Love and respect are earned. They must not like the choices you've made in your life.

It's time to flee the nest, get a place of your own and live the life you choose to live. If you miss your parents, then you will have to make changes in your life for them to once again respect and love you.

I don't know what you question is, but let me guess.

For a parent to not be open to their gay son is a terrible thing. Their son is going through a really big period of pressure. Him taking the effort, and courage to tell his parents is amazing. No matter how much they try, they won't know how much effort it takes him. So, if you are the parent, please, please make your son know that he is welcome in your family, and that you totally accept him. And if you are the son, maybe try to get your parents to go to counseling with you, something to make them realize what you went through, and how they should treat you.

No matter which one you are, I wish you luck, and may there be acceptance for everyone on this world.

We have sons. Don't know if they are straight or gay yet but do know we love them totally and always will. OK grand kids would be nice but our sons' happiness comes first and these days gays can have families!

To me, that is parents worst nightmare.
I would absolutely be devastated....
I am thankful for my kids, they chose to become Christians before they were 15 years old...
Go ahead, give me thumbs down if you want to, it matters not...
