If you can read this ...
1) Is the monitor switched on?
2) Is the monitor connected to the PC?
3) If both the above check and nothing at all shows on the monitor, it may be a fault with the monitor. Check by swapping monitors (if you can). If something comes up on the monitor when you first switch on (e.g. white writing on black) then your PC isn't booting properly. You should see some sort of error message but this may not always happen. There are two possibilities: either your hard disk is corrupt and the operating system is damaged or the BIOS is damaged.
Take the PC to a qualified service place for further diagnosis and repair.

First of all make sure all your connections are properly connected from your monitor to the rear of your system.
if connections are okay, then try try to re-boot your system.
if this still doesn't work, ensure that you are getting power to your monitor,a light should indicate power to the system somewhere on the front of the monitors panel.
if you can there should be some buttons in the front of your monitors panel that will allow you to adjust settings, (all diferent depending on the make and model of your system-I suggest consulting your monitors handbook first before playing with this)
if this still doesn't work, take it to a professional, or an experienced friend knowledgable in computer hardware.

If u know how to handle the PC from inside then look for the video card (the one the monitor is attached to)
and press on it gently and shake it slightly.
If that doesn't work u may need a new video card.

Do you hear any beeps??
If yes, count them.... they tell you something about the hardware. Memory, Hard-disk or something else.
If no beep, do you hear the hard-disk running or does the computer fan run? If yes, check if the cables are right connected and well connected, otherwise disconnect them and start over again. If no.... is there any power or maybe the fuse is broken...
actually I need more information, I can go on for an hour....

First, how are you typing this....
Ok, it might be your graphics card or on-board graphic so you might have to buy a new card.
It migh be that your vga or usb cable is messed up that may have to be replaced.
Are all of your cable pluged in?
is your monitor on?
Is you monitor ok?
If no you may need a computer but take it into a repair shop.

Increase the brightness
It's not as stupid an answer as it looks. My cleaner regularly knocks the brightness control on the monitors at work.

I would suspect a faulty power supply
However, check all cables, inside and out, and then try again.
